Hela: Never have I heard such offer.
Thor: Then never you have known love.
Son of Asgard ending.
Thor proves himself worthy to lift Mjolnir by disobeying his father’s orders to rescue Sif from the Storm Giants. Then he faces death itself, offering his life to Hela fearlessly to save Sif. She’s unable to take his life, for it will be a noble sacrifice that would make Odin proud.
One of the few arcs I found Thor/Sif a compelling and touching romance (JMS being another). This redeemed the couple in my eyes, mostly Thor's involvement. Since Sif has been nothing but understanding and selfless in his pursue of Jane Foster, then his (much, much more entertaining) relationship with the Enchantress, and more. She sure had relationships on the side, but all of them happened when Thor was being a dumbass.
It was nice to see she can mess up too and he was the giving, selfless one for once.
